| dc.description.abstract | Los bajos índices productivos y reproductivos que caracterizan los sistemas de producción bovina en el trópico colombiano son atribuidos a la implementación de planes de cruzamiento desordenados y desconocimiento del potencial de los recursos animales y vegetales con los que se cuenta en la región. El gyr y el brahmán lechero le ofrece al ganadero moderno la alternativa de cruzamientos para producir ganado de doble propósito. Estos ejemplares están siendo sometidos a cruces con razas lecheras europeas como la holstein, jersey o pardo suizo, para producir ejemplares f1 (primera generación) con habilidad para adaptarse y producir leche con mayor eficiencia en el trópico. | en_US |
