| en_US |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The etymological meaning of the word euthanasia is to die well, a good death or a dignified death, since it comes from the Greek, where eu means good, and thanatos means death. There are several forms of dignified death: - Patient's request for palliative care, - patient's refusal to use procedures that are not effective (denial of dysthanasia), assisted death and assisted suicide. At the national, regional and universal level, the term euthanasia has been adapted to the last two forms of euthanasia. The right to a dignified death at an international level has been developed internally in some countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Spain, among others. Likewise, it should be noted that the aforementioned right has not been regulated within the Human Rights Protection Systems (Universal and regional), thus existing a regulatory vacuum in this regard. The Inter-American System for the protection of Human Rights has not yet had the need to rule on a dignified death, to the extent that no request has been submitted; Otherwise, it occurs in the European System, within which there are several pronouncements on the topic in question. | en_US |
